J. D.'S Barbecue Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. pickling spice
    1 lemon, cut in half
    24 oz. bottle ketchup
    2 tsp. garlic powder
    red pepper to taste
    1 c. Worcestershire sauce
    2 tsp. salt
    cornstarch
    1 tsp. sage
    4 Tbsp. paprika
    3 tsp. chili powder
    4 Tbsp. prepared mustard
    1/2 c. plus 1 Tbsp. sugar
    Tabasco to taste
    1 c. white Port wine (optional)
Preparation
    Mix pickling spice, sage and lemon in small saucepan.
    Boil about 15 minutes.
    Cover and let set awhile.
    Set aside.
