Applesauce Chocolate Chip Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1 c. applesauce
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 to 1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. chocolate chips
Preparation
    In large mixing bowl, cream shortening with the 1 1/2 cups sugar until fluffy.
    Add cocoa and beaten eggs.
    Blend well.
    Add applesauce.
    Sift in dry ingredients until well blended.
    Pour batter into greased and lightly floured 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Sprinkle with the 2 tablespoons sugar and chocolate chips.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes, or until cake tests done.
    No frosting is needed.
    Delicious with vanilla ice cream.
