Treasure Chest Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. regular sugar
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    2 unbeaten eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. milk
    1 c. salted nuts, broken in large pieces
    1 c. chocolate bits
    1 c. well drained cherries, halved
Preparation
    Sift first 3 ingredients together and set aside.
    Add brown sugar, sugar and butter or margarine.
    Cream these ingredients thoroughly; blend in eggs.
    Beat well after each addition.
    Add vanilla and beat well.
    Now add dry ingredients alternately with milk; begin and end with dry ingredients.
    Blend well after each addition.
    Stir in nuts, chocolate bits and cherries.
    Turn into 13 x 9-inch or two 8 x 8-inch pans, greased and floured on bottom and bake at 325\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Frost warm.
    Cool to serve.
    Cut into squares.
