Congo Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. brown sugar
    3 eggs, beaten
    2/3 c. melted margarine or Crisco, butter flavor
    2 1/4 c. sifted flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Add sugar and eggs to margarine.
    Mix well. Sift flour and baking powder.
    Stir dry ingredients into margarine mixture and mix well.
    Fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
    Put in 13 x 9-inch greased pan.
    Bake 30 to 35 minutes.
    Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
