Wassail Holiday Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    6 lemon slices
    4 cinnamon sticks
    1 qt. cranberry juice
    1 qt. lemon juice (fresh or frozen)
    2 qt. red wine
    lemon slices for garnish
Preparation
    Boil first 4 ingredients 10 minutes, then strain syrup into a container.
    Combine cranberry juice, lemon juice, and red wine in large saucepan and bring to simmer.
    Mix with syrup and serve warm. Makes 40 servings.
