Alice'S Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 oz. chopped dates
    4 oz. orange peel
    4 oz. lemon peel
    8 oz. red cherries
    8 oz. light raisins
    8 oz. dark raisins
    1 c. butter
    2 c. brown sugar
    4 eggs
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 c. pear honey preserves
    3/4 c. orange juice
    1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
Preparation
    Cream the butter and brown sugar. Add eggs.
    Mix in pear honey.
    Sift dry ingredients and mix 1/2 cup fruit and nut mixture. Add to creamed mixture, then add dry ingredients alternately with orange juice.
    Makes 3 medium size loaves.
    Bake in preheated oven at 275\u00b0 for 3 to 3 1/2 hours.
