Ingredients

3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 c. softened shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Beat the shortening, sugar, vanilla, water and eggs until light and fluffy.
Mix flour with soda and salt; blend into shortening mixture.
Stir in chips.
Drop 2 inches apart from teaspoon onto greased baking sheets.
Bake at about 300\u00b0 for about 8 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes about 8 dozen.
