Lazy Daisy Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/4 c. boiling water
1/2 c. margarine or butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. soda
1 c. Quaker oats (quick or regular)
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Pour boiling water over oats.
Cover and let set for 20 minutes.
Beat margarine until creamy, then gradually add sugars and beat until fluffy.
Blend in vanilla and eggs.
Add oats to mixture and mix well.
Sift together the flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Add to creamed mixture and mix well.
Add nuts, then pour into well-greased and floured 9 x 9-inch square pan.
Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 50 minutes.
