Light Nuoc Mam Dipping Sauce(Nuoc Mam Lac) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/3 c. bottled fish sauce (nuoc mam)
    1 3/4 c. water
    3 fresh peppers, crushed or finely chopped
Preparation
    Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan over high heat. Bring to a boil, then remove from the heat.
    Stir in the fish sauce.
    Allow to cool to room temperature.
    Stir in the peppers. Serve at room temperature.
    Makes about 2 cups.
    (Keep sauce in the refrigerator for up to
    1 week).
