Tortoni - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. toasted almonds
    3 Tbsp. melted butter
    1 c. finely crushed vanilla wafers
    1 tsp. almond extract
    6 c. softened vanilla ice cream
    12 oz. jar preserves (apricot, strawberry)
Preparation
    Mix well the butter, crumbs, almonds and extract.
    Set aside 1/4 cup.
    Sprinkle 1/2 on bottom of an 8-inch pan.
    Put layer of ice cream and 1/2 of the preserves.
    Repeat.
    Sprinkle 1/4 cup crumbs on top.
    Put in freezer.
