Beef Vegetable Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. diced potatoes
    1 c. sliced carrots
    1 c. diced celery
    1 bay leaf
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. dried basil
    1/4 tsp. dried thyme
    2 (15 oz.) cans tomatoes with liquid
    2 to 3 c. water
Preparation
    In a Dutch oven, brown ground beef and onion.
    Drain fat.
    Add remaining ingredients; cover and simmer for 1 hour (or cook in slow cooker on low for 3 to 4 hours).
    Remove bay leaf before serving.
    Yield: 6 servings.
