Spanish Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 loaf salt rising bread
    2 qt. tomatoes
    1 small green pepper, chopped
    1 small onion, chopped
    1/2 to 3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. oleo or butter
    Parmesan cheese (1/4 c. or more)
    1/2 tsp. butter
Preparation
    Break bread and place in a 9 x 10-inch baking dish. Cut onion and pepper into 1-inch slices.
    Add sugar and bread to tomatoes. Pour over bread.
    Shake Parmesan cheese on tomatoes and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour, then stir. Bake 1/2 hour more.
    Place 2 or 3 slices Mozzarella cheese and let melt.
