Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 gal. cucumbers, sliced medium or thin crosswise
4 c. vinegar
1 Tbsp. mustard seed
1/2 tsp. cloves
4 c. sugar
8 onions, sliced
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
Preparation

Soak sliced cucumbers for 1 hour in ice cubes by packing layer of sliced cucumbers, layer of ice cubes.
Combine sliced onions, vinegar, turmeric, mustard seed, celery seed and cloves and bring to a boil. Pour in drained cucumbers and simmer until color changes and cucumbers are tender, about 1 hour.
Pack in sterilized jars and seal.
