Western Spoon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. green pepper
    1 Tbsp. instant minced onion
    1 (1 lb. 13 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 can yellow cornmeal
    1 egg
    1 1/2 tsp. chili con carne seasoning powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Combine green pepper, instant onion and tomatoes in mixing bowl.
    Let stand 4 or 5 minutes.
    Stir in cornmeal, egg, chili con carne seasoning powder, soda, salt and cheese.
    Mix thoroughly. Pour into a well-buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour or until firm.
    Spoon out onto plate and serve hot, either plain or with butter.
    Makes 8 servings.
