Marinated Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. white vinegar
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. oil
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 heaping tsp. celery seed
    1 large head cabbage, shredded
    1 large onion
    1 green pepper
    1 carrot (optional)
Preparation
    Combine the vinegar, sugar, oil, salt and celery seed; bring to boil.
    Let cool and pour over the cabbage, onion, green pepper and carrot.
    Let stand overnight.
