Raisin Apple Coffee Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. soft shortening
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. raisins
Preparation

Mix sugar and shortening together thoroughly.
Add milk.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Spread batter in greased and floured 9 x 9-inch pan.
Arrange thinly sliced apples in fancy designs on top of batter.
Press in slightly.
Sprinkle top with 1 teaspoon cinnamon, mixed with 2 tablespoons sugar.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 375\u00b0.
Test with toothpick.
Serve warm.
(Freezes well and warms in microwave.)
