German Bean Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. navy beans
1 1/2 lb. ham bone shank
1 can tomato paste
2 tsp. parsley
1/2 c. diced potatoes
1/2 c. chopped onions
2 c. celery
salt and pepper
Preparation

Cover beans and soak overnight.
Drain; cover with a large amount of water.
Add the ham bone and simmer until beans are almost soft.
Skim off fat.
Add vegetables and salt and pepper to taste.
Cook until vegetables are soft.
Take out ham bone.
Leave the beans whole or serve well mashed.
