Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. quick oats, soaked 20 minutes in 1 1/4 c. boiling water or 1 1/2 c. cooked oatmeal
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/3 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Sift flour, soda, cinnamon and salt together; sift into butter. Beat.
Add oats; mix well.
Add nuts last and stir in.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 350\u00b0 in a 9 x 16-inch greased pan.
