Date And Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. dates
    1 c. nuts, chopped
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. boiling water
    2 c. sugar
    4 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Place dates, magarine, salt and baking soda into boiling water.
    Let simmer 5 minutes.
    Add nuts and vanilla.
    Cool.
    Mix sugar into mixture and add flour gradually.
    Fill greased cans (soup size) about 3/4 full.
    Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
    Makes about 6 cans.
