Cherry-Nut Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine, softened
    1 c. powdered sugar
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1 c. pecan halves
    2 c. candied cherries, halved
Preparation
    Cream the butter and sugar.
    Beat in egg and vanilla.
    Add flour slowly, mixing well. Stir in nuts and cherries.
    Chill. Divide dough into 3 parts.
    Shape into rolls 10-inches long. Wrap in wax paper sprinkled with powdered sugar. Chill 3 hours or until firm. Cut into 1/8-inch slices.
    Place on ungreased sheet 1-inch apart.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes until edges are slightly brown.
    Do not overbake.
