Fluffy Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 2/3 c. sugar
    1/4 c. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar (optional)
    4 egg whites
Preparation
    Mix the sugar with 1/4 cup water (or a little more). Cook on low heat until it spins a thread.
    Beat the egg whites until stiff and fluffy.
    Pour syrup over egg whites in a thin stream, beating all the time. Beat until cool. Add the vanilla and cream of tartar (optional).
