Oriental Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef
1/3 c. chopped celery
1/3 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. chopped green bell pepper
1 c. water
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 c. soy sauce
2 Tbsp. water
1 (16 oz.) can chop suey vegetables, drained
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
1 (3 oz.) can chow mein noodles
Preparation

In skillet, cook beef, celery, onion and green pepper until meat is browned.
Drain.
Add 1 cup water; bring to boiling. Combine the cornstarch, sugar and ginger.
Blend in the soy sauce and 2 tablespoons water.
Add to beef mixture in skillet.
Cook and stir until mixture is thickened and bubbly.
Stir in the drained chop suey vegetables.
Break apart the frozen peas and add to beef mixture.
Cool quickly.
Turn into a 2-quart casserole. Bake, covered, in a 400\u00b0 oven for 45 minutes.
Uncover and bake 15 minutes more.
Serve over chow mein noodles.
Serves 4.
