Mexican Delight Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    3/4 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. oleo
    1 to 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    In large pot, bring to boil 2 1/2 cups sugar, milk, oleo, salt and soda.
    Add 1/2 cup sugar to the sugar mixture.
    Cook, stirring constantly to a soft ball stage.
    Remove from heat.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Beat until thick.
    Drop on wax paper, one spoonful at a time.
