Lemon Loaf - cooking recipe

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. presifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
2 tsp. grated lemon rind
1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat until light and fluffy. Blend or sift together flour, baking powder and salt; add chopped walnuts and grated lemon rind. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Pour batter into a greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Let stand for 20 minutes. Bake in a preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 60 to 70 minutes.
