Peanut Butter Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. vegetable shortening
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. peanut butter
    1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream shortening and butter or margarine together until light and
    fluffy.
    Add sugar and cream until smooth.
    Add egg and
    beat well.
    Beat
    in peanut butter and vanilla.
    Combine flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture.
    Roll dough into balls
    about
    1 inch
    in
    diameter.
    Place
    on greased cookie sheets and
    flatten by pressing with tip of teaspoon.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Yield:
    4 dozen.
