Betty'S Icicle Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. lime
1 gal. sliced cucumbers
9 c. sugar (5 lb.)
3 pt. apple cider vinegar
2 tsp. celery seed
2 tsp. pickling spice
whole cloves
3 cinnamon sticks
salt
Preparation

Mix lime and 2 gallons of water; soak cucumbers in solution for 24 hours. Drain and rinse well. Soak 2 to 3 hours more in plain water; drain. Make a syrup of sugar, apple cider vinegar, and celery seed; bring to a boil and pour over cucumbers. Let stand 12 hours. Add pickling spice, a few cloves, cinnamon sticks and salt. Boil 20 minutes. Pack in jars and seal. Wonderful!
