Lemon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    juice and grated rind of 1 lemon
    1/3 c. shortening or butter
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. baking powder
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream shortening and add sugar.
    Add lemon rind, eggs and milk.
    Sift flour, salt, baking powder and add to mixture.
    Pour into greased and floured 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
    Bake 50 to 60 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Mix 1/4 cup sugar with lemon juice and drizzle over bread while it is warm.
    Recipe can be doubled.
    Freezes well.
