Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. cocoa
    1 1/3 c. sugar
    1 1/4 c. scalded milk
    2/3 c. shortening
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 eggs, unbeaten
    1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Sift cocoa with 1/3 cup sugar.
    Add scalded milk gradually and stir until smooth.
    Cool.
    Combine shortening, salt and vanilla. Add 1 cup sugar gradually and cream thoroughly.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
    Add soda to flour and sift three times.
    Add flour to creamed mixture, mixing after each addition until smooth.
    Pour into two 9-inch layer pans that have been greased and floured.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
