Ingredients

2 1/2 c. milk
1/3 c. chocolate
1 c. sugar
5 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
2 Tbsp. butter
8-inch baked pie shell, cooled
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Pour milk in double boiler.
Pour in chocolate; stir until blended.
Combine sugar, flour and salt.
Stir into mix and cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
Cook 10 minutes.
Mix small amount of hot mix with egg yolks; stir into remaining hot mix and cook 2 minutes longer; continue stirring.
Add butter and vanilla. Cover and cool.
Pour into shell.
Top with meringue.
