Cornbread Fritters(Usa) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. self-rising meal
    1 1/4 to 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Make a thick batter with meal and milk.
    Drop by spoonfuls on a well-greased hot skillet or griddle.
    Fry until golden brown on each side.
    Serve hot with butter.
    Yields 10 to 12.
