Ingredients

1 lb. butter
2 eggs
2 c. sugar
pinch of salt
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 3 Tbsp. milk and 5 c. flour
Preparation

Mix ingredients together.
Mix well and form into a ball. Chill thoroughly.
Roll out very thin, the thinner the better. Cut into shapes.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 minutes until light brown. Dust with sugar and nutmeg, colored sugar or frost after baking or leave plain.
Makes 6 to 8 dozen cookies.
