Ingredients

4 oz. butter
2 oz. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg yolk
1 3/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. instant coffee
Preparation

Cream butter and shortening.
Add sugars, vanilla and egg yolk. Mix well.
Combine flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder and coffee.
Add to other ingredients.
Mix well.
Mold 1 inch balls, place on sheet pan, flatten with bottom of cup or glass.
Bake at 375 until golden brown.
Yield:
3 dozen.
