Kugelis(A Classic Lithuanian Dish) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 large potatoes
    1 medium onion
    10 slices bacon
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. hot milk
    3 eggs
    sour cream or mushroom sauce (optional)
Preparation
    Peel and finely grate the potatoes and onion. Cut the bacon crosswise into thin, narrow strips. Fry until crisp. Pour fat and bacon over potato mixtures. Add hot milk. Add beaten eggs one at a time. Add salt and pepper. Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 375\u00b0 and bake an additional 45 minutes. Cut into squares and serve hot with sour cream or mushroom sauce.
