Songie Heini Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    1 egg, separated
    1 c. sifted flour
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    jelly
Preparation
    Cream butter until soft.
    Blend in sugar.
    Add egg yolk, beating until light.
    Blend in flour.
    Roll dough into small balls. Dip in egg white and then roll in egg white and finally in chopped nuts.
    Place ball on greased cookie sheet.
    Make depression in center of each ball.
    Bake 5 minutes in slow oven and press down center again.
    Continue baking for about 15 minutes longer.
    Cool slightly and fill centers with jelly.
    Yields approximately 1 dozen cookies.
