Split Pea Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 qt. water
2 stalks celery
2 onions, chopped
1 lb. green split peas
1/4 tsp. thyme
2 bay leaves
salt to taste
crushed red peppers to taste
1 ham hock or any leftover ham or ham bone
Preparation

Boil hard for 20 minutes.
Then simmer until peas are done which should be 2 hours.
Serve with hot corn bread and butter. Serves 6.
