Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. grated lemon rind
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar thoroughly; add egg, vanilla and lemon rind.
Beat until mixture is light and fluffy.
Sift dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture together with milk.
