Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 c. molasses
2 eggs
1 c. melted shortening
1 c. hot water plus 2 Tbsp. baking soda
4 c. flour
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation

Combine all ingredients.
Mix well and let stand overnight in refrigerator.
In morning, roll out and bake in moderate oven.
