Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. oil
    2 lb. stew meat, cubed
    1/4 Tbsp. garlic powder
    2 c. water
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. Worcestershire
    1 tsp. soy sauce
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1/2 tsp. paprika
    1 large bay leaf
    1 onion, chopped
    6 potatoes, cubed
    1 1/2 c. carrots, cubed
Preparation
    Brown meat in hot oil.
    Add other ingredients.
    Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
    Remove bay leaf.
    May be thickened by mixing 1/4 cup cold water and 2 tablespoons flour, then adding to stew.
    Simmer 5 minutes more.
