Garnet'S Yellow Squash Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 yellow squash
    2 green peppers
    6 green tomatoes
    2 1/4 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. salt
    1 Tbsp. each: nutmeg, dry mustard, turmeric and cornstarch
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    6 onions
    1 red pepper
    8 to 10 cucumbers
    2 1/4 c. sugar
    2 tsp. celery salt
Preparation
    Coarse grind squash, peppers, onions, tomatoes and cucumbers, using coarse blade/setting for grinder.
    Add to mixture 1/2 cup salt and let stand for 1 to 2 hours.
    Drain and rinse in cold water; drain again and put in large kettle with remaining ingredients.
    Bring to boil and simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally.
    Cook 30 minutes or until desired consistency.
    Pour into 6 to 8 pint jars and seal.
    Process 5 minutes.
