Feathery Light Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. shortening
1/3 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
Preparation

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Cut in shortening until mixture is crumbly.
Pour in milk and egg.
Mix only until flour is dampened (dough should be lumpy).
Drop by spoonfuls on top of meat or fruit mixture as desired.
Cover tightly and steam 12 minutes without lifting cover.
Makes 6 dumplings.
