Banana Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. soft vegetable shortening
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    3 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    4 egg yolks, beaten
    6 Tbsp. buttermilk
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. mashed ripe bananas
    1 c. chopped pecans
    4 egg whites, beaten
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with beaten egg yolks and buttermilk mixture.
    Add vanilla, mashed bananas and pecans.
    Fold in beaten egg whites.
    Bake in large greased tube pan at 325\u00b0 for about 1 1/2 hours.
    Cool before taking from baking pan.
