Sweet Potato Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. mashed, cooked sweet potatoes (about 2 lb. raw)
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 1/2 sticks (3/4 c.) plus 1 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted and cooled
    2 large eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/3 c. evaporated milk
    pinch of nutmeg
    1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
    1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. chopped pecans (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    In a large bowl, whisk together the sweet potatoes, the granulated sugar, 1/2 cup of the butter, the eggs, the vanilla, the evaporated milk and the nutmeg until the mixture is smooth.
    Transfer the mixture to an 8-inch square (2-quart) baking dish.
