Jane'S Sopapillas - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 pkg. dry yeast
2 Tbsp. shortening
1 1/4 c. warm milk
oil for deep frying
Preparation

Sift flour, salt, sugar and baking powder together in bowl. Blend in shortening with fork.
Add yeast to warm milk and mix well with dry ingredients.
Let rise, covered, for 30 minutes or more.
Roll 1/4-inch thick on lightly floured board.
Cut into 2-inch squares and fry in oil until golden, turning once.
Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with cinnamon.
To serve, bite out one corner of sopapilla and pour in honey right before eating.
