Chunky Beef Soup To Can - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 gal. water
    4 qt. tomato juice
    1 stick butter
    2 large cans beef broth
    3/4 c. beef base
    1/4 c. salt (some less)
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    4 qt. carrots
    3 qt. peas
    8 lb. hamburger
    4 qt. potatoes
    2 qt. green beans
    2 large onions
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Heat to boiling.
    Add vegetables which have been cooked and salted.
    (Cook vegetables separately, cut up in small cubes.) Brown hamburger with onions.
    Add drippings and hamburger to soup. Take some less thant 2 quarts flour and add water to make a smooth paste to thicken soup.
    Cold pack 2 hours or 40 minutes at 10 pounds pressure.
