Chicken Basque(Microwave) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 to 3 lb. frying chicken, cut up
    3/4 c. chopped onion
    1 clove garlic, crushed or 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
    1 1/3 c. (two 4 oz. cans) undrained mushrooms or 1 lb. fresh
    3 c. (1 lb. 12 oz. can) undrained tomatoes, broken up
    1 c. vermouth or dry white wine
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. powdered basil
    1/2 tsp. powdered thyme
    1 bay leaf, crumbled
Preparation
    Cut larger pieces of chicken in half for uniform size. Combine all ingredients in 4-quart casserole. Cook, covered, in microwave for 30 minutes or until done, stirring once. If desired, thicken sauce with 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
