Strawberry Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. crushed strawberries
    6 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1 Tbsp. alum
Preparation
    Cook sugar and water 10 minutes after it starts to boil.
    Put in berries and boil 10 more minutes.
    Add alum and boil 5 more minutes.
    Skim and put in jars and seal.
    Makes 4 pints.
