Ingredients

beets
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. water
1/4 c. vinegar
2 Tbsp. butter
1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation

Cook beets.
Mix sugar and cornstarch.
Add vinegar and water and boil 5 minutes.
Add beets and let stand over low heat 30 minutes.
Just before serving, bring to boiling point and add butter.
