Ingredients

3 eggs, separated
1/4 c. sugar
1 c. sour cream
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
salt to taste
1 tsp. vanilla or cardamom
1/2 c. melted butter
Preparation

Beat egg yolks until lemon-colored.
Add sugar gradually and beat until creamy.
Add sour cream and buttermilk.
Stir in dry ingredients.
Add flavoring and melted butter.
Fold in beaten egg whites.
Bake in waffle maker until golden color.
Serve either hot or cold.
