Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (9-inch) baked pie shell
    3 c. milk
    3/4 c. sugar
    2/3 c. flour
    3 eggs, separated (save egg whites)
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/3 c. cocoa (optional, for chocolate pie)
Preparation
    Boil milk in saucepan.
    Combine sugar, flour, salt and egg yolks; add to milk and stir until thickened.
    Remove from heat. Add vanilla.
    Pour into baked pie shell.
