Tortoni Squares(Serves 12) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped toasted almonds
    6 Tbsp. melted oleo
    12 oz. box vanilla wafers, crushed
    1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
    1/2 gal. softened vanilla ice cream
    18 oz. Smuckers apricot preserves
Preparation
    Mix nuts, oleo, wafers and extract.
    Put 1/3 of mixture in 9 x 13-inch pan or dish.
    Top with 1/2 of the ice cream (softened to spreading consistency).
    Put in freezer until firm.
    Top with 1/2 of the preserves.
    Repeat with 1/3 of the crumb mixture, remainder of the ice cream.
    Return to freezer until firm.
    Add remainder of the preserves and top with remainder of crumb mixture.
    Freeze. Delicious for summer dessert!
